Bangabasi was born from a simple yet powerful dream — to revive the soul of Bengal through its traditional crafts and artistry. Founded in 2017 by Arnal Das, a visionary designer and cultural enthusiast, Bangabasi began as a small initiative to support local artisans who were struggling to keep their ancestral skills alive. What started with a handful of handcrafted items from villages in West Bengal soon grew into a vibrant movement. Through passion, perseverance, and deep respect for our roots, we built a bridge between Bengal’s rural craftsmanship and the modern world. Arnal Das's deep love for Bengal’s heritage, combined with his expertise in design, photography, and digital media, played a crucial role in shaping Bangabasi’s identity. He personally traveled to remote villages, worked alongside artisans, documented their stories, and helped them refine their products for a global audience. Under his leadership, Bangabasi embraced sustainable practices, modern e-commerce, and social media outreach, opening new doors of opportunity for countless artisans. Over the years, Bangabasi has evolved into a celebrated name, recognized for blending heritage, sustainability, and contemporary style. We have proudly provided a platform to hundreds of artisans, transforming their talent into thriving livelihoods, and bringing authentic Bengali art into homes across India and beyond.
